Cisco, as the telecom industry’s big brother, has long dominated the market for networking gear (such as routers and switches). No one can match his abilities. Huawei, on the other hand, is a rising star in the Chinese market. We’ll compare the Cisco switches to the Huawei switches in this article.
Cisco Vs Huawei-Basic Information
Cisco and Huawei are both relatively new companies, having been created in the 1980s. Cisco ranked first in the edge/core router and CES manufacturer leadership scores after 30 years of development. Cisco Systems primarily sells networking devices, networking management software, Cisco IoS/NX-OS software, storage area networks, wireless equipment, data center devices, and interface & modules, among other things.

There are many switch series on Cisco and Huawei. Here, we choose the two most popular switch series to compare. Let’s take Cisco Catalyst 9300 series switches and Huawei S5735-S series switches as an example.
Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series Switches
Cisco’s Catalyst 9300 Series switches, which are part of the Catalyst 9000 family, are designed to convert networks to manage a hybrid future where the workplace may be anywhere, endpoints can be anything, and applications can be hosted everywhere.
The Catalyst 9300 Series, which includes the new Catalyst 9300X models, is helping to rethink connections, strengthen security, and redefine the experience for hybrid workforces large and small.

Huawei S5735-S Series Switches
The Huawei CloudEngine S5735-S is a gigabit access switch that offers 24–48 flexible all-GE downlink ports and four fixed 10 GE uplink ports.
Enterprise campus network access and aggregation, as well as data center access, are all scenarios that S5735-S switches are designed for. CloudEngine S5735-S switches provide advanced features such as increased Layer 3 functionality, simpler O&M, flexible Ethernet networking, and mature IPv6 capabilities, and are built on next-generation, high-performance hardware and the Huawei Versatile Routing Platform (VRP).
-Abundant Service Functions
Provides multiple Layer 3 features such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, and VRRP, enabling a variety of voice, video, and data applications.
-Simplified Network O&M
Super Virtual Fabric (SVF), with plug-and-play capabilities, virtualizes the core/aggregation switch, access switch, and Access Point (AP) into a single logical device for simplified network O&M.
-Diverse Reliability Protection
Power supplies, fan modules, and uplinks in redundancy backup dramatically enhance device reliability and ensure stable services.
Conclusion
We can’t declare which one is better than the other when it comes to Cisco switches and Huawei switches. Cisco switches are the best solution for your network since they suit the needs of businesses and offices of all sizes and types. Huawei, on the other hand, has multiple product lines that are similar to Cisco equipment, but it also has its own network hardware and IT solutions for various network requirements.
