Tips:
We can see there is a feature named Class 4 PoE. What is this Class 4 PoE?
IEEE 802.3af (15.4W) is the first PoE power supply standard, which specifies the power supply standard for Ethernet and is the mainstream implementation standard for PoE applications. In order to comply with the IEEE 802.3af specification, the power consumption of the PoE on the powered device (PD) is limited to 12.95W, which is sufficient for traditional IP phones and web cameras, but with dual-band access, video phones, With the emergence of high-power applications such as PTZ video surveillance systems, the 13W power supply power obviously cannot meet the demand, which limits the application range of Ethernet cable power supply.
In order to overcome the limitations of PoE on the power budget and push it to new applications, IEEE has established a new task group to explore ways to increase the power limits of this international power supply standard. In order to evaluate the possibility of IEEE802.3at implementation technically and economically, the IEEE802.3 working group established the PoE Plus research group in November 2004. Later, in July 2005, the plan to establish the IEEE 802.3at investigation committee was approved. The new standard is called Power-over-Ethernet Plus (PoEP) IEEE 802.3at, which defines Class 4 devices with power requirements higher than 12.95W, which can extend the power level to 25W or higher.
