Cisco has updated features of Cisco Catalyst 3650 series. More models are added to Catalyst 3650 family: 8 x10 Gigabit and 2 x 40 Gigabit.
The 3650 Series switches support full IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+), Cisco Universal Power over Ethernet (Cisco UPOE) on the Cisco Catalyst 3650 Series multigigabit switches, and offer modular and field-replaceable redundant fans and power supplies.

Switch Models and Corresponding Default Power Supplies
The Cisco Catalyst 3650 Series Switches also come in a 12-inch lower depth (WS-C3650-24PDM/WS-C3650-48FQM only) form factor so that you can deploy them in tight wiring closets in remote branches and offices where depth of the switch is a concern.
All Cisco Catalyst 3650 Series Switches have fixed, built-in uplink ports and ship with one power supply. The 5 tables below provides high-level comparisons of the different available models in the Catalyst 3650 Series Switch family. You may view all models with: 4 x Gigabit, 2 x 10 Gigabit, 4 x 10 Gigabit, 8 x10 Gigabit and 2 x 40 Gigabit
Customers can choose from five types of uplink ports at the time of the switch purchase:
- Four Gigabit Ethernet with Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP)
- Two 10 Gigabit Ethernet with SFP+ and two 10 Gigabit Ethernet with SFP or four Gigabit Ethernet with SFP
- Four 10 Gigabit Ethernet with SFP+ or four Gigabit Ethernet with SFP
- Eight 10 Gigabit Ethernet with SFP+ or eight Gigabit Ethernet with SFP
- Two 40 Gigabit Ethernet with QSFP+
All models can be purchased with LAN Base, IP Base, or IP Services software. Customers need to purchase the IP Base or the IP Services software-enabled models in order to use the Catalyst 3650 Series Switch as a wireless controller.
