Cisco Catalyst 2960-S Series and 2960-SF Series Switches, once as popular network switches for branch and midsized campus access applications, were announced be the end-of-sale and end-of-life ones by Cisco in 2015. The last day to order the affected product(s) of Cisco 2960-S and 2960-SF Series is November 6, 2015.
In the following two tables, they will show the product part numbers affected by this announcement (Table1) and the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected products (Table2). Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table2 of the EoL bulletin.
For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available under the terms and conditions of customers’ service contract.
Cisco will increase prices for these products following the End-of-Life announcement.

The Cisco Catalyst 2960-X Series provides a direct replacement for each Catalyst 2960-S Series Gigabit Ethernet model, at the same price. The Catalyst 2960-X provides better architecture, features, and performance than the 2960-S, doubling the feature set.
Customers for the Catalyst 2960-SF Fast Ethernet switches should also consider moving to the 2960-X switches, which provide the features of the Catalyst 2960-SF and more, including PoE Plus (PoE+), improved IPv6 performance, and optional StackWise stacking. The 2960-X PoE models have a premium of approximately 20 to 25 percent over the 2960-SF Series.
Customers may be able to continue to purchase Cisco Catalyst 2960-S Series and 2960-SF Series Switches the Cisco Certified Refurbished Equipment program. Refurbished units may be available in limited supply for sale in certain countries on a first-come, first-served basis until the Last Date of Support has been reached.
Service prices for Cisco products are subject to change after the product End of Sale date.
