Google, the search giant, recently launched its new Facebook thing: Google Plus, which is a social networking service ambitiously aiming at giving the company a home-built source of information about what people like and are following on the Web — the kind of “interest graph” that Twitter could so easily build by tracking what people are following.

Despite Google’s previous failures with products Buzz and Wave, this newest push is being hailed as the first serious competition to Facebook that draws more than 500 million users. And increasing people want to be the fan of Google Plus, haha, including me.

Some people said that Google Plus threats to Facebook and Twitter, which can cause a discussion or debate among Facebook users, Twitter users and Google Plus users.

An online poll carried out by The Christian Post aimed at measuring just how Google+ is faring against rival Facebook found that the majority of voters believe both companies will coexist.

The unofficial poll, in which almost 2,000 people participated, gave voters the following three options to choose from:

1. Google+ Will Dethrone Facebook

2. Google+ Will Lose to Facebook

3. Google+ Will Coexist with Facebook, Just Like Coke and Pepsi, Cisco and Juniper, Microsoft and Apple.

The votes proved to be favorable for “Google+ dethroning Facebook,” with 36.5 percent of the votes (702 votes), over “Google+ losing to Facebook,” 16.6 percent of the votes (319 votes). But the majority, 46.9 percent of the votes (903 votes) believe that both companies will co-exist in rivalry the same way Coca-Cola and Pepsi or Cisco and Juniper have battled for dominion until the present.

As Facebook and other social networking sites are constantly battling privacy issues, Google + offers its users to selectively share what you want, to whom you want. Features such as Circles allow you to create distinct groups for different people in your contacts and through that, a user can invite respective group members to group video chat, send messages, share photos and search results of your common interests. In essence, it unifies the different platforms through which people communicate, consolidating many of Google’s existing products such as Gmail, GChat and others into one place with the people you already know in your contacts.

Indeed, Google Plus is welcomed by some parents. Li, a parent of a 16 year old, agrees that Google+ is definitely a good and safe alternative. “As a parent of a then nine-year-old daughter who once mistakenly shared information publicly through Buzz, Google+ is very comforting. It’s an issue of control. Being more private in your communication is highly important.”

Someone said that Google Plus is social, is bold, and is fun and it looks good. Are you leaving Facebook for Google Plus? That’s not a terrible choice.

  6. A lot of of the things you point out is supprisingly accurate and that makes me ponder why I had not looked at this with this light before. This piece really did switch the light on for me personally as far as this specific topic goes. Nevertheless there is one point I am not really too cozy with and whilst I make an effort to reconcile that with the actual core idea of the position, let me observe exactly what all the rest of the subscribers have to say.Very well done.
